The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society broke a slew of records during HIMSS11 in Orlando, breaching the 30,000-attendee mark and the 1,000-milestone for exhibiting vendors.

HIMSS11 had 31,225 total attendees, compared with 29,174 in Orlando in 2008, the previous record year. Professional registrations in 2011 reached 14,639, a 7 percent increase over 2010.

The 1,042 exhibitors in Orlando broke last year’s record of about 934. Exhibitors covered 456,770 net square feet in 2011’s exhibit hall, 12.5 percent more space than a year earlier.
