Picis will incorporate nursing documentation vocabulary developed by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses into its perioperative information system. Terms of the arrangement were not announced.

During the past decade, Picis has incorporated several nursing documentation standards developed by AORN into its clinical information systems. In this latest effort, Picis will incorporate the AORN “Syntegrity” standardized perioperative framework into its perioperative software suite.

According to Picis, the documentation module will streamline reporting, track quality of outcomes and adherence to patient safety protocols, and reduce EHR configuration time.

AORN represents over 41,000 registered nurses in the U.S. Picis is owned by Ingenix.
