Panasonic Revamps its Health Care Division

Following its 2011 acquisition of Sanyo Electronic Co. along with its health care unit, Panasonic Corporation of American has formed a new health care division.


Following its 2011 acquisition of Sanyo Electronic Co. along with its health care unit, Panasonic Corporation of American has formed a new health care division.

The Panasonic Healthcare Company of North America, headquartered in Secaucus, N.J., includes operations of the former Panasonic Healthcare Group and the former Sanyo Biomedical Solutions Group.

The Panasonic products include robotic pharmacy systems, digital hearing instruments and the CardioHealth Station, which is a portable ultrasound system to assess cardiovascular health. The Sanyo products include cell processing workstations, incubators, sterilizers, and lab, pharmacy and blood bank refrigerators and freezers, among other biomedical products.

Yoshi Yuasa will lead the Panasonic Healthcare Company of North America as president. He previously concurrently was head of Panasonic Healthcare Group, senior vice president of the Corporate Planning & Strategic Initiatives Department and vice president at Panasonic Canada.
