Overhage New CMIO at Siemens

Siemens Healthcare has announced the appointment of Marc Overhage, M.D, as chief medical informatics officer.


Siemens Healthcare has announced the appointment of Marc Overhage, M.D, as Chief Medical Informatics Officer.

Overhage was one of the architects of the Indiana Health Information Exchange and recently served as president and CEO. He also is a leader of the Central Indiana Beacon Community, one of 17 regional collaborations to receive stimulus funding to develop, demonstrate and disseminate best practices for optimal use of health information technologies.

Overhage, an internal medicine specialist, also has served as director of medical informatics and research scientist at Regenstrief Institute, and as a professor of medical informatics at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He will start at Siemens on March 28 and be responsible for clinical informatics activities and guiding long-term product strategies.
