The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology will hold its annual meeting January 23-24 in Washington. Karen DeSalvo, M.D., the new national coordinator, starts her duties on Jan. 13.
The first day offers a wide range of sessions, an exhibit hall and an ONC Town Hall meeting. The second day offers 30 training sessions covering EHR certification, data exchange and interoperability, Stage 2 preparation and various requirements, ICD-10 and billing basics, population health, privacy and security, clinical quality improvement and measurement, health I.T. safety, communications outreach, consumer e-health and engagement, coordinated care, data analytics, federal health I.T. priorities, state innovations and syndromic surveillance.
