The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology will host technical assistance calls on Jan. 5-6 to further detail grant opportunities for development of health care information technology training programs at four-year colleges.

ONC in December made $32 million in stimulus-funded grants available for the training programs and $6 million available for development of a set of health I.T. competency examinations. These awards are in addition to $80 million in grants announced in November to offer health I.T. training at about 70 community colleges.

The one-hour technical assistance call for university-based training programs starts at 3:00 EST on Jan. 5. The phone number is 877-601-4720 with a passcode of 1414879. The Web presentation is available at https://www.livemeeting.com/cc/dt/join?id=P4Z656&role=attend&pw=7B%29CMkR.
