The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT has named an acting director to oversee consumer e-Health initiatives and is seeking a full-time permanent replacement.

Lana Moriarty, on detail from the HHS Health Resources and Services Administration, will lead the consumer e-Health activities in the interim, according to a Sept. 12 jobs opportunity announcement. She replaces Lygeia Ricciardi, who left in July. At HRSA, Moriarty managed part of the National Health Service Corps and the NURSE Corps programs. The programs focus on improving care delivery to underserved communities by offering scholarships and loan repayments to healthcare professionals who will serve in the communities.

Moriarty previously served in the World Bank Group on programs to ensure the needs of women and girls are included in the bank’s overseas initiatives, according to ONC. She also was a Peace Corps volunteer in the African nations of Benin and Togo.

The job opportunity for a permanent ONC consumer e-Health leader offers a salary of $124,995 to $157,100 annually with the job site in Washington, D.C. It is a GS-15 federal level position and requires experience equivalent to a GS-14 level. Relocation expenses will not be paid.
