Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, N.J., has opened “HealtheConnect,” a complimentary consumer health technology service hospital executives hope will empower patients and visitors to use technology in their quest for optimal health.

The on-site store offers support from a full-time specialist who can assist in utilizing health-specific mobile apps and technology.

Patients and guests can bring their smartphones, laptops and tablets to HealtheConnect to learn about an assortment of new health technology options, including, but not limited to:

*Blood pressure monitors (which connect directly to smartphones)

*Fitness trackers

*Wireless BMI scales

*Access to personal medical records

*Various health management smartphone apps

In addition to the on-site staff, the service area will be equipped with charging stations and sell other digital accessories, including ear buds and charger cords. In the coming months, HealtheConnect will host monthly seminars to educate the community and physicians about health and wellness technology.
