Walgreens on June 8 came out with a pill-reminder/refill reminder mobile app for Apple Watch to support improved medication adherence. The app supports simple once-daily reminders to take a medicine, as well as multiple complex drug regimens, according to the drug store chain.

The pill-reminder feature enables a consumer to mark the medication as taken or skipped to aid in tracking adherence, and also gives information on when a missed medication can be taken next. The refill-reminder feature enables users to initiate a refill with one touch, as well as being notified when it is ready to pick up.
