Florida Hospital in Orlando has teamed with Siemens Healthineers to develop a series of outcomes-based collaborative programs.

Siemens Healthineers is a vendor specializing in diagnostic and therapeutic medical imaging, laboratory diagnostics and molecular medicine. Under a long-term agreement, the hospital will tap Siemens’ imaging technologies and industry expertise to aid in improving healthcare affordability, outcomes and patient experiences.

To start, Florida Hospital will incorporate cardiac computed tomography angiography into the organization’s clinical protocols to assess and manage intermediate-risk patients arriving at the emergency department with acute chest pain, using the vendor’s SOMATOM Definition Flash dual source Cat Scan system. The goal is to use dual source CT technology to enable optimized, lower-cost cardiovascular care.

“Siemens Healthcare has a longstanding creative backbone and they’re always looking to create new solutions and innovative ways of delivering care across the health continuum,” says Eric Stevens, a senior executive officer at Florida Hospital. “I’m really excited that we’re addressing affordability and accessibility by creating cutting-edge healthcare that connects with people in a new and different way.

Future phases are not yet fully developed but will bring in the patient experience, value-based care and affordable care components.
