Nuance Communications has released a mobile application, free for a limited time, to enable clinicians to verbally search for medical content via an iPhone.

The Dragon Medical Mobile Search application links to content from Drugs.mobi, IMO, MedLine, MedScape and Google, according to the Burlington, Mass.-based vendor. A physician saying "naproxen" will get results from these content vendors, as well as a drug description, dosing and contraindication information from Drugs.mobi.

The medical search application is available at the Apple App Store. It is the first of four mobile software products Dragon is coming out with during the second half of 2010. They include mobile dictation and reporting products, and a software development kit for third-party organizations.
