AirStrip Technologies Inc., a vendor of software that enables transmission of patient information from monitoring devices and electronic health records to a clinician's mobile device, has named Alan Portela as CEO. He succeeds founder Gene Powell, who remains as senior advisor and board chair.

Portela most recently served as founder and CEO of Hybrid Clinical Transformation LLC, an advisory firm specializing in EHR adoption strategies. He previously served as president at EHR vendor CliniComp Intl.

San Antonio-based AirStrip in January named Portela to its board and he also served as a senior advisor.
