Just in time for the RSNA annual conference, vendor research firm KLAS Enterprises has released a report examining customer satisfaction with 14 companies selling picture archiving and communication systems.

KLAS ranks the vendors in three categories.

Customers of the top tier vendors--Infinitt, Intelerad, DR Systems, McKesson, Novarad and Sectra--view the companies as having a track record of improvement by quickly releasing improved tools, says Ben Brown, KLAS research director and report author.

Middle-tier vendors--Carestream, Fuji, Merge and Phillips--are slower at giving customers the functions they want in new releases, according to the report. KLAS lists Agfa, Cerner, GE Healthcare and Siemens in the bottom tier and “falling behind the curve as far as development and functionality are concerned.”

The report, “Radiology PACS Technology: The World Looks Under the Covers,” is available for purchase at klasresearch.com/klasreports. Also available is “CT 2012: Reconstructing the Market,” which looks at the progress of four CT vendors, particularly in making lower-dose systems, with Siemens at the top.
