Cerner Corp. has announced that Chief Operating Officer Mike Valentine will leave on May 13 and Mike Nill, currently executive vice president, will become COO.

The company in a statement did not give a reason for Valentine's departure, but said first quarter results being reported on April 28 will meet or exceed financial guidance issued in February. A Cerner spokesperson says the company is not aware of where Valentine is going. Valentine joined the company in 1998 and became COO a decade later.
