NaviNet Teams to Expand EDI Services

Electronic data interchange vendor NaviNet Inc., which sells Web portals enabling providers to exchange administrative and financial transactions with insurers, will add patient portal functions and additional services from the Relay Health division of McKesson Corp., San Francisco.

The functions include messaging software to enable patients to request appointments, cancellations or online medical consultations; pay bills online; and enable providers to send reminders to patients.

New services for providers include e-prescribing, prescription refill requests and lab results delivery, according to Cambridge, Mass.-based NaviNet.
