Merge Appoints its First CMO
Medical imaging software vendor Merge Healthcare has named Cheryl Whitaker, M.D., to the new position of chief medical officer.
Medical imaging software vendor Merge Healthcare has named Cheryl Whitaker, M.D., to the new position of chief medical officer.
Whitaker will help guide product strategy and serve as a liaison to the clinician community. Most recently, she directed strategy and priority for funding programs to promote healthy lifestyles, reduced environmental threats and increased access to care at Chicago Community Trust, a 95-year-old foundation.
Whitaker also serves on the board of the Illinois Health Information Exchange Authority under a gubernatorial appointment, and previously was an assistant professor of preventive medicine at Rush University Medical Center. She completed her medical training in internal medicine.
