Meaningful Use veteran Genevieve Morris joins ONC

Former consultant named principal deputy national coordinator and has done work for agency.


The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information technology has named Genevieve Morris as principal deputy national coordinator at ONC. The position may be new but Morris already has an extensive working relationship with the agency.



Morris is a subject expert in areas such as health IT policy, program management, interoperability, meaningful use and the Quality Payment Program within MACRA, as well as ONC certification processes.

Prior to the new ONC position, Morris held several posts since September 2011 at consulting firm Audacious Inquiry, which has included research and consulting work to support ONC.

She generated reports to the agency supporting the State Health Information Exchange Program, consumer engagement in information exchange and helped develop the Shared Nationwide Interoperability Roadmap.

Morris also developed test procedures and data for meaningful use and advancing care information calculations that support the health IT certification program. She also built the health IT framework for the Alternative Payment Models program.
