The Bipartisan Policy Center, operated by former congressional leaders and governors, had named Janet Marchibroda as chair of its Health Project initiative to advance health information technology.
Marchibroda was the founding chief executive officer of eHealth Initiative, a Washington-based advocacy organization, before resigning in April 2009 to join IBM Corp. For the past year, she has worked full time on stakeholder engagement activities under a contract with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. She previously served as chief operating officer at the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
The Health Project seeks to bring public and private sector leaders together to identify I.T. strategies and best practices to support delivery system, payment and insurance reforms. The project expects to issue its first report on June 2.
The Health Project, on April 26 will host a live Webcast at 11 a.m. Eastern Time with Farzad Mostashari, M.D., recently appointed national coordinator for health information technology. Click here for more information.
