Main Line Health goes live on Epic with device integration

In other implementations, Menninger Clinic chooses Cerner for its new electronic medical record.

Here is Health Data Management’s weekly roundup of new health IT contract wins and go-lives.
  • Main Line Health, which serves the Philadelphia area, has completed medical device implementation into its new Epic electronic health record system at its four acute care hospitals. Clinical surveillance and a real-time data analytics platform also now are in place. Medical device vendor Bernoulli was a partner in the project offering detailed data schemes, functional assessments and clinical support for a range of medical devices. The integration will impact more than 450 beds, including intensive care units, emergency departments and neonatal intensive care.
  • The Menninger Clinic, a Texas-based mental health care delivery system, will adopt the Cerner electronic medical record as well as the vendor’s behavioral health software. Cerner’s web portal will enable patients and families to view their health information, share self-reported information, schedule appointments and securely message providers. Menninger also will implement revenue cycle management modules.

  • GCS Medical College, Hospital & Research Center, a 1,000-bed facility in Ahmedabad, India, will use the inpatient and outpatient software of eClinicalWorks to create a unified medical record for patients. A patient dashboard will display clinical information in the emergency department, surgical suites, intensive care units and inpatient units. The vendor also will aid the hospital in improving the flow of reusable surgical materials and in using analytics.

  • Beacon Health in South Bend, Ind., an existing customer of revenue cycle management vendor R1 RCM, will add revenue capture services under a multi-year contract. RCM serves about 120 hospitals with software to improve net patient revenue and cash flow while reducing costs. Beacon Health’s delivery system includes three hospitals, home care and more than 230 providers in nearly 50 practices in Indiana and Michigan.
  • WakeMed Health & Hospitals, a three-hospital and 919-bed delivery system in Raleigh, N.C., will use the group purchasing services of Premier along with a platform to conduct clinical, financial and outcomes analytics. “Working with Premier, we expect to achieve an even deeper data-driven understanding of our quality and outcomes efforts, as well as our clinically integrated supply chain approach,” says Donald Gintzig, president and CEO at WakeMed.
