Lexmark International has introduced the Patient Admissions and Registration Solution, which combines document management and workflow software with the vendor's printer capabilities.

The application generates admissions packets, converts printed documents to digital files, and links the files to a patient's electronic health record, according to the Lexington, Ky.-based vendor. The application integrates with other information systems, enabling the check-in of patients at the admissions desk, a clinical floor or at the bedside.

It also makes accessible such information as medical history, treatment consent and HIPAA privacy forms, insurance status, and advance directives. More information is available at lexmark.com/healthcare.
