KPC Group extends use of Allscripts to 4 more hospitals

In other implementations, 25-bed Cibola General Hospital completes interface integration.


Here is Health Data Management’s weekly roundup of new health IT contracts and go-lives.

The KPC Group, which operates seven hospitals serving Orange County in California, has extended in four hospitals its Paragon electronic health record contract with Allscripts. The goal is to have predictable technology costs, move IT operations to a secure data environment and enable IT resources to focus on optimization. The contract includes remote hosting and several additional years of maintenance via a bundled offering.

Cibola General Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital in Grants, N.M., has completed integrating interfaces between its OBIX Perinatal Data System charting software and the ancillary departmental software of MEDHOST to facilitate labor and delivery clinical workflows. The vendors co-developed the interfaces and the hospital delivers about 250 babies annually.

Lovelace Health System, with five hospitals in Albuquerque, has completed its first wave of an Epic go-live with help from CSI Healthcare IT. The project, which included 25 clinics, took two weeks.

The Center for Health Education Medicine & Dentistry, a federally qualified health center in Lakewood, N.J., has completed implementation of the electronic health records and practice management system of eClinicalWorks. The cloud-hosted system, which includes dental and behavioral health modules, serves about 66 providers.

Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, a major cancer care center in Australia, has signed to implement a suite of software from Meditech. The products cover oncology, pharmacy, materials management and patient and consumer health portals. The patient portal will enable patients to more easily complete a lot of documentation prior to appointments. Lifehouse serves more than 40,000 patients annually.
