Vendor research firm KLAS Enterprises has significantly expanded its focus on the medical imaging software market.

KLAS during the past year has dabbled in imaging, publishing three reports during the first half of 2013. Now, the company has created an advisory board and debuted three new reports during RSNA 2013 in Chicago. The reports, available here, cover teleradiology serving the emergency department, three things to know about dense tissue breast imaging with ultrasound and tomosynthesis technologies, and PACS and image archive technologies.

The organization’s advisory board members are Mark Christensen, strategic sourcing manager at Intermountain Healthcare; Karen McGraner, director of radiation oncology at Exempla St. Joseph Hospital Denver; Eugene Pomerantsev, director of information systems and quality assurance support for cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston; Peter Rahko, director of the Adult Echo Lab at University of Wisconsin Hospital; Pablo Ros, radiologist-in-chief at University Hospitals Health System in Cleveland; and Brian Wetzel, director of diagnostic imaging at Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, NY.
