The Kansas Academy of Family Physicians is partnering with medical device manufacturer Welch Allyn to create a service designed to help its members select and prepare for an EHR deployment. The consulting program will guide physician practices through a 10-step project plan, which includes an online tool for vendor selection.

“Kansas Academy of Family Physicians has members in practices ranging in size from solo practice to large groups,” says Carolyn Gaughan, executive director of KAFP. “This partnership with Welch Allyn will offer an affordable opportunity to all of our members who are eager to make a smooth transition to an EHR.”

The Kansas Academy of Family Physicians is the largest medical specialty society in Kansas, with a total of 1,530 members. The group is affiliated with the American Academy of Family Physicians, the national association for family physicians.
