Health-e-cITi-NJ, an information sharing collaborative of eight hospitals in New Jersey, will use Web portal and health information exchange technology from Piscataway, N.J.-based IGI Health.
The collaborative is funded with a multi-year $3.2 million grant from the state, which is doling out $11.4 million in federal HIE funds paid under the HITECH Act. The hospitals will use IGI's HIE platform and meaningful use reporting software, patient and physician portals, and the Intel SOA Expressway for Health integration application.
The hospitals include Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Patterson, Jersey City Regional Medical Center, Christ Hospital in Jersey City, East Orange General Hospital, Meadowlands Hospital in Secaucus, St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark and University Hospital in Newark. Six-clinic Newark Community Health Center also is participating.
