InterSystems Gets Illinois’ State HIE Contract

The statewide HIE is financed through an $18.8 million federal grant under the HITECH Act. The first phase of the HIE is expected to go live in April 2012.
Core services of the HIE will include a record locator service, master patient index, use of the Direct secure messaging software via a provider portal, privacy/security/consent mechanisms, and provider, payer and public health entity directories.
