Claims clearinghouse vendor InstaMed has raised $6 million in a new round of funding. The funds included debt and equity capital and came from existing vendors who with this round have now invested $22 million in the Philadelphia-based company.

The vendor will use the funds to enhance its data center infrastructure and develop new business. InstaMed recently introduced a new application enabling providers to estimate a patient's bill and secure a pre-authorized method of payment once the claim has been adjudicated.
