The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology has selected InfoGard Laboratories as the third entity to test and certify electronic health records systems for supporting meaningful use criteria under the temporary certification program.

ONC previously picked Drummond Group Inc. and the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology as certifying entities, and may select others.

San Luis Obispo, Calif.-based InfoGard has been a federally accredited I.T. security testing laboratory since 1995. It has developed numerous testing and certification programs serving the public and private sectors. These include programs to validate cryptographic modules, postage meters, and payment card security protections, among others.
