Chicago-based Huron Consulting Group Inc. has acquired Click Commerce Inc., which sells Web portal software with a variety of applications to support academic medical centers and other research institutions. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The software from Beaverton, Ore.-based Click Commerce focuses on management of research administration and compliance. Functions cover grant proposal and submission, automated financial disclosures and conflicts of interest, post-award grants management, clinical trials participant tracking and billing, auditing, animal operations, institutional review boards, and safety committees.

More than 50 institutions are clients, including American Heart Association, Kaiser Pemanente, Mayo Clinic, Oregon Health and Science University, Johns Hopkins University, University of Michigan,  Fox Chase Cancer Center, Georgetown University Medical Center and multiple children's hospitals, among others.
