HP announced a new cloud-based analytics-as-a-service offering built on its HAVEn Big Data analytics platform. By using HAVEn, the company says, organizations can more effectively analyze and derive value from information, increasing sales through targeted offerings, enhancing supply chain performance and discovering security risks.
HAVEn allows organizations to create new applications that can accelerate the monetization of big data, HP says. The platform combines technologies such as HP’s Autonomy IDOL, Vertica Analytics, ArcSight Event Manager and ArcSight Logger, as well as industry initiatives such as Hadoop.
One of the first adopters of the platform, HP Enterprise Services, deployed HAVEn as part of its Big Data Discovery Experience offering, which lets companies test and determine the value of new use cases and data sets prior to making large capital investments. As part of the Big Data Discovery Experience, companies have been able to quickly develop solutions that can be deployed either on premise or in the cloud, HP says.
“Harnessing the value of information is a top priority for our clients and a big data solution is a significant investment of time and money for any organization, regardless of industry,” Dragan Rakovich, chief technologist, Information Management and Analytics at HP Enterprise Services, said in a statement. “HP Enterprise Services has leveraged HP HAVEn’s unified approach to big data to provide a low-risk, simplified and accelerated entry path to addressing key client business problems.”
