USA Mobility Inc., a vendor of wireless messaging and communication services for multiple industries including health care, has acquired Amcom Software Inc., which sells complementary technology.
Springfield, Va.-based USA Mobility will pay $163.3 million for Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Amcom, which is well known in the hospital market for its paging systems and smart phone-enabled secure messaging.
Amcom's health care clients include Banner Health System, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Stanford University Medical Center and University of Chicago Hospitals, among others.
