Standards development organization Health Level Seven International on July 13 will host a free Web seminar on Version 2.5.1 of its implementation guide for electronic laboratory reporting to public health agencies.

The messaging standard supports Stage 1 electronic health records meaningful use criteria as well as state and local laboratory reporting requirements. The Web seminar will cover how public health uses lab data today and how the standard supports such use, current status of public health adoption of the implementation guide, tools to aid adoption of the guide, lessons learned from adopters, and future updates to the implementation guide.

The presenter for the one-hour seminar is Austin Kreisler, technical fellow at Science Applications International Corp. and principal author of the implementation guide. More information is available here.
