HL7 Tests Join the Electronic Era

Standards development organization Health Level Seven International now is offering computer-based certification exams.

With members in 55 nations, HL7 has been relaying on paper-and-pencil tests at sponsored events across the globe. Now, test development and delivery software vendor Kryterion will administer electronic exams though a network of more than 400 testing centers.

HL7 also is enabling individuals to take online proctored tests from their own computer if they have Internet access and an external webcam that meets certain requirements. Certification test fees are $199 for HL7 members and $350 for nonmembers.
