Health information technology vendors have announced the following initiatives in recent days:

* Workforce management software vendor Kronos Inc. has acquired OptiLink from The Advisory Board Company for an undisclosed amount of cash. Tigard, Ore.-based OptiLink sells nurse scheduling software that analyzes admissions/discharge/transfers data to staff appropriately, based on actual patient demand and acuity. Users of the software include Intermountain Healthcare, Seton Family Healthcare and Tenet Healthcare Corp.

* The TriZetto Group will integrate its Facets and QNXT payer administrative systems with the InsureAdvantage insurance purchasing, enrollment and underwriting platform of Connecture, and offer the combined technology to insurers and state insurance exchanges.

* IASIS Healthcare, which operates 19 hospitals in seven states and uses electronic health records software from NextGen Healthcare Information Systems across its employed physician network, will add the vendor’s integrated practice management application. The physicians also will use NextGen’s outsourced revenue cycle management services.
