HIE Vendor to Handle Diagnostic Images

Integration and health information exchange vendor Orion Health will offer access to diagnostic medical images and reports via its physician Web portal.

The Santa Monica, Calif.-based vendor has licensed the Cedara WebAccess application of Merge Healthcare, Milwaukee. The application enables access to radiology images and reports from anywhere within an HIE without opening separate systems or copying data, according to the vendors. The "zero-client" HIE portal requires no additional hardware or bandwidth.
