Executive leaders of the consulting unit of provider software and services vendor HealthPort have bought the unit and launched privately held TrustHCS, headquartered in Springfield, Mo. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Torrey Barnhouse is president of the new consultancy, which will focus on health information management, coding, audit, cancer registry and revenue cycle integrity issues. The transition will be seamless for existing clients, who will work with the same consultants and account managers, according to the company. TrustHCS will use HealthPort's technology platform under a partnership. More information is available at trusthcs.com.

Alpharetta, Ga.-based HealthPort offers outsourced release of information services, and practice management, electronic health records and revenue cycle management software.
