HealthNet Boosts its Analytics

Insurer HealthNet Inc. will implement a suite of business intelligence software from MedeAnalytics Inc., Emeryville, Calif.

The Woodland Hills, Calif.-based payer will use the vendor's medical management, provider network management and operations performance analytics applications. Medical areas that can be analyzed include emergency department coding and utilization, readmissions, one-day stays, length-of-stay efficiency, and types of therapies, among others.

The provider network application covers such areas as outcomes, practice patterns and identification of outliers. Operations performance covers efficiency of claims processing, denial rates and overturned appeal rates, among other issues.
