Clinical messaging software vendor Halfpenny Technologies Inc. has acquired Laboratory Management Services for an undisclosed sum.
Hauppauge, N.Y.-based LMS offers a number of information technology services to insurers and clinical laboratories. These include provider credentialing; financial data and quality management, analytics and reporting; clinical data capture and analysis; claims management; and management of shared capitation reimbursement.
Blue Bell, Pa.-based Halfpenny will operate LMS as a division and integrate LMS with its core health information exchange business. "Through the acquisition, Halfpenny will be able to facilitate the movement and normalization of clinical data from laboratories and hospitals to satisfy health plan reporting requirements," according to a company statement.
