Greenway Buy Targets FQHCs and Other Community Health Centers

Physician software vendor Greenway Medical Technologies Inc. will acquire the community health centers services of CySolutions Inc. for an undisclosed sum. The companies expect the sale to close by Oct. 31.

Carrollton, Ga.-based Greenway sells an integrated practice management/electronic health records/data exchange system. It has recently been targeting federally qualified health centers and has about a half-dozen clients.

Southlake, Texas-based CySolutions' community health center division provides proprietary software and outsourced professional services to offer FQHCs and other community health centers a range of reporting, patient registration, scheduling, accounts receivables, billing, physician credentialing, fee schedule maintenance, eligibility, referral authorization and tracking, document management, and immunization, perinatal case and laboratory results tracking services.

Now, Greenway will pick up those services and about 20 clients, and can cross sell software and services to existing and prospective clients. The acquisition also better positions Greenway to serve accountable care organizations.
