Florida Payer Outsources

Health First Health Plans has outsourced its claims administration technology to DST Health Solutions. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. “With the onset of healthcare reform and the increasing cost of maintaining complex, modern technology, we made a strategic business decision to outsource core claims administration processing to DST Health Solutions,” says Jim Gillespie, vice president of information systems for Health First Health Plans. The claims administration package includes Medicare members. They payer has also implemented a new Web portal which provides members and healthcare providers access to claims, eligibility, medical authorization and other benefit information.
