The Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration has signed a three-year, $172 million renewal service agreement with HP for the vendor to manage the state’s Medicaid Management Information System.

HP’s interChange Medicaid system has been used by the state agency since 2008. The system supports Web-based provider enrollment, claims authorization and file exchange. In addition, HP plans to enable facilities in Tallahassee to conduct real-time claims processing, call center services and claims suspense, and oversee pharmaceutical support provided by a third party.

More than 3.1 million Floridians receive Medicaid benefits, and the Medicaid system is used to process more than 150 million claims worth totaling over $20 billion a year for 114,000 Florida health care providers.
