The NYeC Regional Extension Center serving New York State has named five companies as "preferred" vendors of electronic health records for physicians.

The vendors are eClinicalWorks, Eclipsys, Greenway Medical, NextGen and Sage. "These vendors will enable you to achieve meaningful use and continue to be an effective EHR user into the future," the extension center touts on its Web site.
The regional extension center is one of at least 60 such centers across the nation that has received funds authorized under the HITECH Act. The centers will offer technical assistance to providers implementing electronic health records and other I.T. systems.
