The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission will host a free Web seminar on privacy and security challenges for financial institutions that process protected health information.

Industry sponsored EHNAC certifies entities that process transactions or exchange health information for meeting certain best practices. The 90-minute seminar on June 15 will start at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

The seminar, through a panel discussion, will examine current regulations that relate to financial institutions and recommendations by industry organizations for achieving compliance. The panel also will consider potential ramifications for unlawful disclosure of PHI and steps to reduce risk, followed with questions.

Seminar panelists include Albert Casas, vice president at CitiBank; John Casillas, senior vice president at HIMSS Medical Banking Project; Jan Estep, president and CEO at NACHA-The Electronic Payments Association; and Sharon Klein, an attorney at Pepper Hamilton LLP. Registration is available here.
