Nashville, Tenn.-based Emdeon transmits electronic remittance advice from payers to providers when available, but roughly 90% of these transactions remain paper-based, says George Lazenby, CEO. By combining FutureVision's document imaging with the clearinghouse service, Emdeon now can digitize and automate the posting of both paper and electronic payments upon customer request. The company has traditionally printed and mailed paper remittance advice and will continue to offer that service for those who want it.
