Krames StayWell will individually map its more than 12,000 patient education articles, videos and other content to at least 20 health care terminologies in the Healthcare Data Dictionary of 3M Health Information Systems.

The mapping of content to such terminologies as ICD-10-CM, SNOMED, CPT, NDC and LOINC will significantly ease Krames' ability to integrate with virtually any health information system, and ease compliance with future meaningful use measures, according to the Yardley, Pa.-based vendor.

Version 5 of Krames' on-demand software has received meaningful use certification as an electronic health records module from the Certification Commission on Health Information Technology. The vendor also recently announced support for the Direct Project, a federally funded initiative that produced free, downloadable secure e-mail software for exchanging clinical information.

Support for the project will enable providers to securely transmit literature covering more than 3,300 topics, as well as 2,000 medication information sheets, to patient e-mail accounts. Krames also will collaborate with Microsoft HealthVault to enable educational literature to be stored in and accessible from a patient's HealthVault personal health records account.
