Electronic prescribing software vendor DrFirst Inc. has created a Hospital Services Group division to provide consulting services.

The "reasonably priced" services are designed to assist hospitals in integrating medication management into operations to improve safety and qualify for electronic health records meaningful use incentive payments, according to the Rockville, Md.-based vendor.

Services include a readiness assessment, best practices training, go-live support of DrFirst products, building best practices modules for electronic medication management, and monitoring of the electronic prescription output of hospitals to quickly identify technical problems.
