Dow Chemical Company, with 52,000 employees, is implementing electronic health records software for use in workplace clinics across the globe.

The Midland, Mich.-based company is using the WebChart Enterprise Health product of Medical Informatics Engineering, Fort Wayne, Ind. Dow's 40 clinics in the United States and three in India are using the EHR. Up to 15 other clinics in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America will get the software.

The EHR automatically identifies employees due for visits, notifies them by e-mail and enables self-scheduling of appointments. The application also tracks visits required for compliance with certain rules or certifications. More information is available at mieweb.com.
