The HIT Standards Committee, a federal advisory panel, reminds stakeholders that public comment is being solicited through Dec. 15 on specifications to support health information exchange across the nationwide health information network.

Government agencies currently are the dominate users of such specifications, and the committee is specifically looking for input from non-federal organizations that have implemented the specifications. Feedback also is being asked for on the new recommendations the committee made on Sept. 28.

The comments will help guide recommendations the committee will make to the Office of the National Coordinator about future investments in additional NHIN pilots and specification development. The full solicitation for comments and a copy of the Sept. 28 recommendations are available here.
