The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange has launched a Web site to report implementation challenges and solutions learned when implementing the CORE operating rules to make HIPAA financial and administrative transactions more uniform.

The Operating Rules Reporting System is free. It enables organizations to submit their issues to the online database, a submission that can be anonymous if desired. Users can search a catalogue of current documented implementation issues, as well as access previously submitted problems and solutions.

The Affordable Care Act mandates adoption of a series of operating rules between 2013 and 2016. The first two rules, covering insurance eligibility determination and claim status, have a compliance date of Jan. 1, 2013.
