An updated version is available of the CONNECT data exchange software federally developed and now on the open source market.

CONNECT was specifically designed among federal agencies to enable organizations to securely exchange health information using Nationwide Health Information Network standards and specifications, before being released to all stakeholders.

Enhancements in version 3.3 include compliance with newer specifications approved in July 2011, backwards compatibility between the January 2010 and July 2011 specifications and previous versions of the software, a configurable set of services for targeted selection during installation, parallel message initiation and processing, preparations for a clustered environment, performance related configurable parameters and enhanced implementation instructions, among others.
