Colorado HIE works with Medicity to distribute patient data

In other implementations, Doylestown Hospital goes live on an eClinicalWorks EHR.

Here is Health Data Management’s weekly roundup of new health IT contract wins and go-lives.
  • The Colorado Regional Health Information Organization has partnered with insurance software vendor Medicity to distribute electronic Continuity of Care documents to clinicians and support staff across the state. This will enable participants in the CORHIO network to access actionable clinical intelligence at the point of care to optimize treatment decision-making. During the last 36 months, the health data available to community providers in the network has increased by 189 percent, says Morgan Honea, CEO at CORHIO. The HIE supports 74 hospitals and 11,000 provider organizations, community organizations and insurers, among other stakeholders.
  • Doylestown Hospital in suburban Philadelphia has gone live on a new electronic health record system from eClinicalWorks, serving 169 providers. The cloud platform connects more than 50 types of specialists to create a communitywide longitudinal medical record, while giving providers anywhere, anytime access to any device or schedule. The new system also supports a patient portal with a mobile health app that integrates to wearables and imports information into the EHR for provider review.

  • Intermountain Healthcare in Utah has a new 10-year expansion agreement to continue using the revenue cycle technology of R1 RCM across the 22-hospital delivery system. Intermountain first selected the vendor in 2011 to work with the revenue cycle operations team to optimize operations from scheduling and patient access through claims and payment functions. The new contract has R1 RCM responsible for fully managing revenue cycle operations across inpatient and preventative care settings.
  • Major Health Partners in Shelbyville, Ind., will extend its 22-year partnership with Meditech and implement the vendor’s next-generation Web EHR. The practice is affiliated with Major Hospital. Improved sharing and integration of data across the enterprise was a factor in renewing the relationship.
  • Capital Anesthesia Solutions, a group practice of 50 anesthesia providers affiliated with Berger Health System in Circleville, Ohio, has selected the Plexus TG iPad-based anesthesia documentation system to streamline workflow. Other benefits include superior portability, automated capturing of physiological data, access to scheduling data and patient demographic data. Integration of the anesthesia record and the billing system is expected to improve productivity and accelerate the billing and collections process.
